Ridum KulshresthaAugust 29, 2023 Super impressed by Dr Gireesh’s expertise. He provided me with the correct diagnosis and consultation. This was my first trip to any dentist so far in 30 years of my life. I had heard all wrong things about other dental clinics that how sometimes they try to misdiagnose to convert you into a repeat customer. But was super happy when Dr Gireesh told me the exact procedure I needed, not exactly the expensive one which was told to me earlier. Additionally, he took time to answer all my concerns and questions. Highly recommend Molar Support. 👍🏻 Miss PriyaFebruary 18, 2023 My sister had a her dental implants in this clinic and I must say, the whole procedure was very well carried out. TREATMENT DETAILS
Dental crowns are custom-made coverings that fit snugly onto a tooth. It is generally indicated after a root canal procedure. The dental crowns are given to protect the tooth from forces exerted during biting and chewing. It helps prevent tooth fracture by giving the necessary structural support to the weakened tooth structure. Dental crowns offer structural durability and are necessary for the better prognosis of the concerned tooth.
Usually, the fixation of the dental crown takes two sittings. The first sitting involves reshaping the tooth. The concerned tooth is trimmed from all sides to make space for the dental crown. Once the tooth is prepared, an impression is taken to make a study model. The study model or cast is then sent to the lab for dental crown fabrication. The whole process is completely safe and painless. Our chief dentist, Dr Gireesh Likhyani, ensures that strict sterilization protocols are followed during the whole process.
The fabricated dental cap or crown is cemented onto the tooth in the second sitting, usually after 3 to 4 days of the first sitting.
At Molar Support Dental Clinic, we ensure that the best material is used to make the impressions to record every detail of your teeth. The finest dental labs fabricate your prosthesis for an impeccable finish and comfort.
Dental bridges are fixed prostheses that are used to replace missing teeth. Dental bridges can replace a single tooth or multiple missing teeth.
Bridges are a traditional way of replacing missing teeth, and the dental bridge works by taking support from the adjacent teeth. The natural teeth act as the stable support system to bridge the gap created by missing teeth.
Missing teeth are an aesthetic concern and can cause functional problems. The adjacent teeth shift in the empty space, altering the bite. With the changes in bite, it becomes difficult to chew your food properly, leading to general health issues like constipation and nutritional deficiencies.
The teeth in the opposite arch also start supra-erupting to fill these empty spaces. In doing so, the teeth compromise on their support structure and become loose. Hence, it is important to replace the missing teeth that will prevent this cascade of events.
Ceramic crowns are made up of an aesthetic material matching the natural teeth. It is also known as porcelain crowns and is best suited for front teeth due to its superior aesthetics. It is an excellent choice for restoring the function and catering to aesthetic concerns.
Porcelain fused to metal crowns or PFM crowns comprise a base layer of metal with a ceramic layer on top of it for better aesthetics. This dental crown provides both strength and aesthetics.
The most advanced quality crown material used is zirconia. It offers strength, durability, and superior aesthetics. There is no underlying base metal layer in it, making it superiorly aesthetic.
The aftercare of crowns and bridges is simple and similar to natural teeth. You do not need any special equipment to maintain them in good shape. Regular brushing and flossing are enough to maintain optimum hygiene. You can use a water flosser if you are uncomfortable with the regular waxed thread flossing.
